After looking at this - Karl was thinking maybe you wouldn't want to paint the deck lid. I figured atleast I would give you that option.
Let me know.

I am thinking paint because unless there were other notable similar highlights in front and side, it may look wierd. All black is a nice look. It is hard to tell from the pics, so it may look better in real life. What do you think? I trust your judgement but remember the CF hood vent?  we ended up taking it off. Also, I see the wheels are not happy....... I am free this weekend and may be free during the week. Let me know and I can come by to help.
So, in answer, I am leaning towards paint, even though it would save a bundle if we did not. This may be the last stop for a while for blaki :(

Last stop, because blaki has finished grooming school and is ready to be on her own. Next stop is M5 project. Moving in October L

Wed might work but can I drive home or just a visit? Would be great……

Karl is supposed to be finishing up the paint this week.. he shouldn't be done until Wed night or thurs some time.  If you're going to pick it up.. I would prefer to pick it up later this week or weekend.

About wheels: I got some feedback from the other wheel paint job that was done, and I don't think it serves your needs. Reason being - the clear started to chip off. I think this may happen to your wheels as well.  Karl mentioned some adhesion promoter that may help the situation - but I think the problem could remain, especially since we're polishing the wheels very smooth before painting them.   Thoughts?   We could try the wax at first?

About gauges: the wideband O2 sensor is not going to work as planned. The proper installation of this part would require removing the exhaust manifold on the car and welding a bung in place. This is achievable but really expensive and hardly worth the gains. This would be beneficial if were doing our own tuning on the Super charger, but since it's just an indicator I've decided to go the simpler route for now.  You'll be limited to a vacuum gauge, boost gauge, and oil pressure. I hope you agree/

Its nice to be working full time on projects during the day. It's like a I have my own biz. It sure makes projects move a little faster.  Sorry this one has taken as long as it has. It'll be sad to see blaki gone, but her cousin the M5 should be a nice replacement.

How's the baby growing?

Agree with all you say. Can you return the sensor or do we eat it. Too bad cant get the A/F but no worries. The wax is probably not a bad idea but labor intensive. Worth a try if it works. Would not like chips on that shine. As is, just means more regular upkeep.  Doable. I have baby duty all day Saturday, so unless Friday pm, then Sunday (unless rain of course). The next weekend is bad for me (work duty). Lemme know. Hey ever hear about cheezehead in Wisconsin and witey?

Looking like either Atlanta or phoenix. Any word on spots near there? If no, then either I have to send blaki back to you or maybe you can help find me a protégé of yours. Of course, M5 would be shipped and your domain.

If we can't return the sensor then I'll eat it. Since this was on my recommend I should be responsible. Besides - I want it. But first choice is to return it.

Let's shoot for Sunday. I have a feeling that Karl could push me off .. but if not then on Fri afternoon I'll give you a call.

Never heard from cheesehead but noticed that he bought a replacement bumper reinforcement from ebay.

Well - I wound up taking a job at Moen in North Olmstead near Cleveland. They have a facility down near Raleigh in NC, but don't see that happenning for a couple of years.   So the target 2-3 years from now.

Don't have many friends down that way that I would trust to work on the car -but there are a $hitload of reputable biznesses. I'm sure you can find someone if you need help.  It's not worth the savings to ship back here unless you're doing a lot of work.

Now I'm getting excited over M5.
