Something weird is happening with this forum.  I responded last night my time to Mike's post to my previous question about firmware version 1.4..., but my reply has not appeared on the forum.  I tried again this morning (about 7 hours ago), and I do not see that reply in the forum either.  I saw no error or other indication when I posted these replies.  A few minutes ago, I saw a dialog pop up when I clicked on "Conversations" on the left of the screen - it said something like "Your message has not finished sending yet".  I haven't been able to make it appear again.  Anyone know what's going on here?

Anyway, I will reply to Mike's response here...  Yes, I saw the posts about the "3rd Party Compatibility" back when this upgrade happened, and looked in my Tapo app at that time.  It was set to OFF, so I set it ON.  That didn't make any difference. I tried logging off Tapo and back on again, no dice.  So I assumed that setting was not going to work for me.

BUT - I have just revisited some of the posts, and note that for some people, turning the setting OFF, then ON again was what worked for them.  I don't recall seeing that before.  So I tried that late last night, and would you believe, it now works fine!!  My AM Server now talks quite happily to the Tapo in question.  So it's good news all round - nothing for Mike to do, and I can now use my "spare" Tapo.  And maybe I don't need to be as paranoid about firmware updates.  Thanks for the prompt response Mike.  Cheers.

I know google can be fussy with email responses so I always answer from the web site.
That's a good tip for the off/on switch, thanks for finding that.  A bit crappy for the app to be like that.  I would guess they need to change a setting on each device which may be slower and rely on having connectivity, it could be a bit flakey.
