Hi Mike.  Apologies If I've corresponded about this before, the old memory isn't what it used to be...
I have a number of Tapo P110 smart plugs in my system.  I thought I had them all set so they did NOT update their firmware automatically, but it seems I missed one of them.  It updated its firmware and now AM Manager cannot talk to it.  In the device screen on my server tablet, the message that scrolls across under it says "Handshake exception: could not get key from handshake to ....".  I've done some searching and there is a lot about this online, as it apparently broke a lot of systems due to a change in the handshake procedure.  I actually got around this by buying another P110 on the gamble that it still had older firmware, and I won that bet:  it did have earlier firmware, so I commissioned it and set auto update to OFF.  But this is something that will only work for a while, so it would be great if you felt like investigating it and tweaking AM Manager to deal with this.  I have something I could use this surplus Tapo for.  And it's even possible that TP-Link might remove the option to control auto updates in the future, and just do them always - that's what Microsoft would do!  The problem Firmware version is "1.4.0 Build 251020 Rel 161559".  All my working Tapos have a version that starts with "1.2.3..." or "1.3.1....", so I suspect it's the 4 after the first decimal point that is the significant change.  I do realise this sort of thing could chew up a lot of time/effort, so if you are not prepared to go down the path I will understand completely.  Cheers.

Ugh, I don't have any 1.4 devices and none of mine show ready to update...  I won't be able to do anything until I get one.

I did find a discussion that 1.4 version devices need to be enabled for 3rd part access, in the tapo app: me / third-party services / third-party compatibility.
Can you give that a try?

I also have some TAPO P110. One on 1.3.4 and two on 1.3.1. All came out of the box with 1.3.1 and I incautiously allowed one to take a firmware update. Fortunately no harm was done I think. All my smart stuff is on a firewalled network with no default internet access so even if TP-Link wanted, they cannot access my TAPOs to force an update on them.
