Research Analyst Position

Application closing date January 31, 2014

The Health Systems Infrastructure Administration (HSIA) is seeking an intern to conduct data analysis as part of Maryland's State Health Improvement Process (SHIP) and Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) designation. The paid intern ($18-20/ hr) will:

*       Support state needs assessment through synthesis of epidemiologic data based on state health priority areas
*       Have primary responsibility for project-related regional health status data compilation and synthesis
*       Support project team's work on implementation of reporting tools associated with the SHIP
*       Conduct health professional shortage area designation data analysis to inform public health planning
*       Support other SHIP/HPSA-related activities

The internship will occur on-site at DHMH in Baltimore, Maryland. Strong applicants will be detail oriented and self-motivated, be comfortable with epidemiological data and proficient in statistical analysis, have excellent presentation skills and proficiency with PowerPoint creation. Additional methods training (epi/biostat or health communication) are a plus. Schedule is negotiable.
