Dear MPP,
What a nice day to start the week with the Framework Agreement almost in the reach! I hope this email finds you well. This is just a quick message to update you on the MPP Strategic Planning Exercise on October 25-26-that’s basically next week already. I know October 25 has been declared a national holiday so hopefully it is still okay to proceed. J
· Attached is a proposed/draft Program for your comments and feedback – it is a simple guide that we used in our 2010 first planning held at SEARSOLIN. The only difference now is the attempt to develop a log frame hopefully with the vision to organize our activities and expected outcomes in the next 2-3 years. Many of you I’m sure are already ‘jaded’ on developing log frames but hopefully this will be useful this time around. Another tool that we can explore is an intervention logic or theory of change diagram. Your ideas are much appreciated.
· We start at 9:30am on October 25 and end at about 4pm on October 26 – we have 2 full-days for this planning exercise and we anticipate thought-provoking and interesting discussions just like 2 years ago so we want to maximize time. Our budget covers for your (1) overnight accommodation (October 25-26); (2) meals and snacks in SEARSOLIN; and (3) transportation reimbursement to and from SEARSOLIN.
For those coming from Davao – AFRIM and TRICOM, please let us know what arrangements you will be making for transport so we can support you appropriately.
· Peter Sheridan – there is going to be a discussion to firm up our plans for Peter Sheridan’s placement from November 12-21 (Manila and Mindanao). Much of his visit will be allotted to work with OPAPP, CMO (Civil Military Operations) unit of AFP, PNP and National Defence College of the Philippines and the PNP Academy. He will only be here for a total of 10 days and only 2 full-days (proposed dates are November 16-17) in Lanao in partnership with MPP. More discussions later during the workshop.
· Most have already confirmed except for: MuCAARD-POM, TRICOM, SALAM, LEAD and PMWS. May I get the confirmations/names of those who will attend?
