*"FSD is an international mine action organisation. This private,
independent, and non-profit organisation was created in 1997. FSD's
focus
is on locating and destroying landmines and unexploded ordnance to
prevent
accidents. FSD’s overarching aim is to alleviate and diminish the
social,
economic and environmental impacts of landmines and unexploded
ordnance,
thus creating favourable conditions for the reconstruction and
development
of war-torn countries.*

* FSD is currently recruiting for several office and field based
positions
to support the implementation of the EC funded action ‘Delivering
peace
dividends through the reduction of Explosive Remnants of War’. This
threat
reduction action will be implemented in partnership with the
Philippines
Campaign to Ban Landmines (PCBL) in Mindanao.*

*Vacancies for the following Positions include;*

* Community Liaison Officers*

*Community Liaison Officers (CLO) implement the system and processes
used to
exchange information between national authorities, mine action
organisations, and communities on the presence of mines and explosive
remnants of war and their potential dangers as well as other
information
relevant to clearance operations. They enable communities to be
informed,
before, during and after operations, about demining activities near to
them
and allows communities to inform local authorities and mine action
organisations on the location, extent and impact of contaminated
areas.
Community liaison aims to ensure that mine action programmes address
community needs and priorities through survey, assessment, reporting
and
mapping exercises.*

* Project Assistant*

*The Project Assistant (PA) is responsible for the full and complete
accounting of expenditure in the project, administrative support and
records keeping. *

* Drivers*

*The driver is responsible for the safe transport of FSD staff and
equipments as per daily schedules of works. They are also responsible
for
the day to day good maintenance of the vehicle.*

* Security Guards*

*The Guard is responsible for the gate entries and active perimeter
security
of the FSD premises.*

* Duty Station: Cotabato City and Provinces of Maguindanao, Cotabato,
Lanao
del Norte, Lanao del Sur. *

The Protection Cluster in the Philippines has been established by the
National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) Circular No 5 series of 10
May 2007 (Institutionalizing Cluster Approach in Philippine Disaster
System). The cluster approach is part of a global response aimed at
providing more timely and consistent help to the internally displaced
and other affected people in complex emergencies and disasters.

The Protection Cluster in Mindanao meets in Cotabato, Iligan, Davao and
other cities on a regular basis. Currently there are over 100
participating agencies including from the Government, State, Civil
Society, national and international NGOs and agencies, as well as the
United Nations.
