I was on TT and read all the post about the boat club and had to
laugh. being a member there I cannot remember anyone ever being
rejected or denied a membership. It is madeup of very normal people
who really can't afford high price clubs. the food is great, the
drinks are cheap and they have alot of parties there. So for someone
to accuse this club of being raceis is just trying to start trouble.
it is one of the easiest clubs to join all you have to do is walk up
to the bartender and ask for an application fill it out and anyone at
the bar will sponsor you because if I remember right there is a cash
incentive to sponsor new members. So unless this person just walked in
one night and did not see any other race there and just assumed that
it was a whites only club ( inwhich this person was implying) it is
not. it is just a place where good honest people go to be with
friends. I didn't bother responding on TT because I am just to fed up
with the obnoxius people that post there know. And just to let you
know how layed back the people are some have even nicked-named it "The
Red Neck Yacht Club" no racism intented

I'm glad you wrote this. The conversation on TT irked me too ... so
much so that I got into the club's Web site and posted part of the
bylaws.
Some people will just never stop bitching.

haha -would they really put, "oh BTW we're rascist bigots" in their
bylaws?
Their laws may say, "without regard to race, color, gender, marital
status, or national origin." but let be real here, they have to state
that by law. In reality, however, most clubs *are* discriminatory when
it comes to race, national origin, sexual orientation, and even
sometimes marital status.
BTW - I didn't see the argument. My opinion comes only from what's
said here.
