M.Ed. in Quantitative Methods at Vanderbilt
The Quantitative
Methods program within the Department of Psychology and Human Development at
Vanderbilt is delighted to announce a new 2-year program conferring a Masters in
Education (M.Ed.) in Quantitative Methods. We are accepting applications this
Fall 2014/Spring 2015, to begin Fall semester 2015.
This M.Ed. program
provides students with strong quantitative methods training for applied research
settings. The program is designed for individuals interested in working in
dedicated research institutes, industry, academic settings, medical school
research settings, K-12 school systems, and government.
Students in this
32-hour M.Ed. program take two required core courses in quantitative methods,
two hours of colloquium seminar activity, and eight additional courses (current
offerings include Multivariate Statistics, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM),
Exploratory/Graphical Data Analysis, Factor Analysis, Multilevel Modeling,
Growth Curve Modeling, Introduction to Item Response Theory (IRT), Advanced IRT,
Latent Class and Mixture Modeling, Regression and Correlation, Psychometric
Methods, Nonparametric Statistics, and Advanced Topics in SEM).
The M.Ed.
program culminates in a summer-long or semester-long internship in which
students obtain real-world experience producing data analyses for a public or
private organization in Nashville or the broader research community.
The
QM area in the Department of Psychology and Human Development is a vibrant
program of eight faculty who conduct state-of-the-art research in statistical
modeling and measurement. For information about QM faculty, see
