Dreamhost has a managed VPS WordPress hosting service in beta. Maybe they are only offering it to current subscribers but it is being offered for only $19.95 as a lifetime for beta users. It does not offer all the bells and whistles of Synthesis or WPengine but you get a managed VPS and caching.
