Hi, everyone.

I was brought in on a small project, and I'm realizing how little I seem to know about WPBakery and the Salient theme. I don't typically use pre-made themes, so I'm wondering if somebody can shed some light on this for me.

The project entails creating new templates for their post archive and single posts (both being the native posts, not custom post types). The design is very customized, so in a perfect world I can create something with a clean WPBakery page and just go from there, but I can't see where/how I would build these templates and how I'd assign them so they work as they should. I'd prefer to stay within the WPBakery/Salient options so they can easily change things later without my help.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Last year I started troubleshooting for a client using WPBakery. Here are the steps I've used:
  • Click on Templates in the left navigation
  • Then page templates
  • Add page templates (at the top)
  • Click edit live button
  • Drag/click on elements desired in left sidebar
  • When finished name and save template
  • Create your new page
  • Scroll down to page layout widget and select your template from the options for the page
I almost always edit this theme live. But, I have had to edit the code occasionally.

Thank you for this. I'm not seeing some of the options you mentioned (probably just a configuration issue), but it did get me thinking in the right direction.
