I have a handful of Wordpress test sites that are configured to run on an Ubuntu (or Mint) system. I've currently been hosting them on a $12 AWS Lightsail instance. These instances have 2Gig of "RAM" and that's just barely enough. It periodically runs out and the instance hangs. Then I have to restart it by hand.

At least I think that's what's happening.

I could get a more expensive instance. But even this one has more than I need of everything but memory. In order to get more memory I need to buy *way* more than I need of disk, CPUs, bandwidth, etc. This appears to be the same at Digital Ocean.

Is it just that the memory is what's actually expensive? Or is there anybody else who sells a small virtual machine that I can just top up memory?

And, actually ... I wouldn't care if it died occasionally then came back. These are just test sites. The only actually issue is that they hang and have to be fiddled with by hand to restart them.

Just wondering if anyone has any advice about this.

Thanks!

Mike
