I maintain several WordPress sites and have been upgrading them to
3.3.2 without any issues except for the last site. I get this fatal
error message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_option() in /home3/
thissold/public_html/dianesblog/wp-admin/admin.php on line 32

I can't see anything different in the sites and the upgrades I've
done. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm not a sys admin, so trouble
shooting this is a problem for me.

Here's the url of the blog http://thissoldhouse.biz/dianesblog/ which
also now gets a fatal error

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp() in /home3/thissold/
public_html/dianesblog/wp-blog-header.php on line 14

Help please.

Thanks,

Tom

Tom,
The issue likely owes to something on line #14 of the wp-blog-header.php file in the theme.  What is on that line?

Tom, did you try disabling all of your plugins to see if that helps, by chance?  I had an upgrade instance where one of my plugins was the culprit and gave me an error similar to this.  Just a thought…

I'm about to attempt moving a blog from typepad to wordpress.

Not a typepad fan, after having one typepad site for 5 years.  It's part of the reason I learned wordpress.  It's clutzier, you have less control, and fewer tools are built for it by others.

I would ditto this.  I've seen this both with plugins that weren't compatible with the new version, and with themes that weren't.  So try disabling plugins, or experiment with a different theme to see if it is the culprit.

Have you checked to see if there is a theme upgrade that fixes the problem?

Thanks so much for the reply Winnie
I realize I'm going up the down staircase on this
At least Shareology can remain wordpress...
How long has it been since TypePad was a viable tool???

Lisa,

Thanks for the suggestion. I had to remove all the plugins (can't get
to the dashboard) and the problem still exist. I have downloaded a
fresh copy of 3.3.2 and copied wp-admin, wp-includes and misc files.
wp-content has remained the same. I have other 3.3.2 installs with no
problems. I'm really stymied by this one.

Thanks for the help. I got the problem fixed. It helps to make sure
wp-config is not blank, not sure how that happened, but I restored an
old copy from a backup and every thing works like a champ.

Thanks again,

Tom

A wordpress users group might not be the best place to ask questions
about typepad. I used it for several years and still have an account.
it is a fine platform and oh so easy to use. Mostly plug and play and
probably no need for a users group. The best source of help is
through the typepad site. they have forums and online help.

I don't belong to a TypePad users group...
Some decisions are not ours to make
Thank you for adding to my research collection....'tis much appreciated!
