Hey all, can you help me out?

I seem to have broken the permalinks on this site I'm developing. I can see my custom taxonomy and custom post types just fine but my regular pages are all giving me 404 errors.

I have the permalink structure set to %postname%  and have reset it a few times and have emptied my cache but am not having any luck.

What the heck did I do? And how do I fix it?

Is there a conflict between the CPT rewrites and your posts or pages? (e.g. what are the rewrite slugs for them?)

Does changing to a different permalink structure fix it?

Ah-ha. Yes that did the trick. I changed to month and name, and that worked. Then I changed BACK to post-name, and that now works as well.  What the heck?

Well I'm not going to question it. Just glad I didn't bork the site.

thank you. Duh.

when you save that permalink setting to something different than it
was, it rebuilds all of your permalinks. it sometimes fixes problems
caused by multiple plugins, or deactivated plugins that mess with
permalinks.

Barb,
If you decide to descend back into the abyss, you could use "flush_rewrite_rules" to manually rewrite the permalinks: http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/flush_rewrite_rules

Thanks Toby! Yeah I've done that in a plugin before but didn't think I had to do that when I was manually pushing the button! I just didn't know that I had to change the setting first. Dumb mistake.

Thanks!
