MPIR on Windows

Hi All,

I am getting an increasing amount of email asking about when I am
going to upgrade my Windows ports of GMP for the latest version ---
which I am not intending to do.

Perhaps surprisingly, a lot of people still seem to be unaware of the
existence of MPIR and the full support it offers for native 32 and 64
bit Windows library builds.

For these reasons I have just updated my web page at:

http://www.gladman.me.uk//computing/gmp4win.php

to explain how MPIR came into existence from a Windows perspective and
also explain how to obtain high performance multiple precision
arithmetic libraries on Windows.

I am also increasingly being asked for Windows build projects for MPFR
on top of MPIR.

This page hence also provides a link to my Visual Studio 2008 project
files for building MPFR with MPIR.
