Hello Robert,
Not to be blunt or anything, but the reason people are so confused is because your statements partly contradict themselves.
Earlier you first said "so you can achieve 130 points in total of which you have to get 40% in order to take the exam."
40% in this case would actually be 52 points.
Then you answered the question about the influence of the homework-points on our grade with "no, there is only an influence if you score less than 60% [...]" and afterwards referring to the slides "the exercise is just about passing the 60% threshold, but it's all written somewhere in the slides."
The slides again say that you need 40% of the exercise points to attend the exam, which again supports your first statement, meaning we only need 52 points out of 130. But now you are saying it's a mistake in the slides.
So since you yourself have brought up both, the 40% and 60% threshold, it's kind of confusing.
And I do believe that this discussion is necessary since it's about information on how our work is actually evaluated and ultimately how our work is graded. Presumably, MPI is not our only lecture, which means we have to manage our time accordingly. Now if that means we do not actually have to do the third assignment because we possibly already have all of the necessary points, we can concentrate on other tasks such as the MPI project that just started or even tasks of other lectures. Frankly, we ourselves lose time and possibly take the damage with wrong information.
Please don't be offended as I do not intend to be insulting in any way, I (and I guess other people too) just want this to be cleared up, again, since you yourself made two contradicting statements regarding this matter. It's an honest mistake, we don't blame anyone, no harm done, but regarding this matter, we want a definitive statement that we can rely on.
Greetings,
Johannes
