ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT

In order to increase uptake and enhance quality of maternal and child health services in Uttar Pradesh, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) has entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP) in December 2012 to provide techno-managerial assistance by establishing a Technical Support Unit (TSU) to implement the RMNCH+A strategy. The TSU envisages support to GoUP by improving the execution capacity at the block, district, divisional and state levels with the overall objective of accelerating progress against critical health and other key development indicators with focus on 25 districts (and within them 100 focus blocks).

To strengthen results and to evaluate performance and outcomes of the TSU, an external Monitoring, Learning and Evaluation (MLE) has been constituted. Sambodhi Research and Communications is leading the consortium comprising on International Centre for Research on Women and Accountability Initiative.

Job Description

Job Title: Regional coordinator-MLE

No. of Position: 5

Location: Allahabad, Barabanki, Bareilly, Farrukhabad & Gonda

The MLE engagement entailed deployment of team at the state and the regional levels. These teams will work in tandem with the TSU. This advertisement is for vacancies (5) at the divisional level (with frequent travel to Lucknow) for the position “Regional coordinator-MLE”. The profile will entail:

? Coordinating with TSU representatives at the regional and district level on a day-to-day basis for implementation of the various MLE activities

? Implement the sub-state and district level activities as may be required by for the MLE under supervision of the state MLE coordinator

? Provide need-based backstopping support to the district and the sub-district teams of TSU as may be required by the MLE activities.

? Any other tasks as may be required for fulfillment of the MLE objectives

Desired profile

· Education: MBA/Masters in Public Health from premier institutes or any other relevant professional qualification

Experience:

· Minimum 2-5 years of progressively responsible experience in Research, Monitoring and Evaluation in public health. Demonstrated experience in project management and client servicing.

· A sound understanding and specific work experience related to Mother and Child health is desired.

Personal Competencies:

· Knowledge of Research, Monitoring and Evaluation, Data Analysis & thematic understanding of public health

· Ability to lead, plan and manage a complex set of activities

· Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills

· Knowledge of local language i.e. Hindi is mandatory

· Willingness to travel

· High level of involvement, engagement and ownership

· Strong time management skill and ability to prioritise

· Strong interpersonal and negotiation ability

Remuneration

Remuneration will be at par with industry standards and commensurate with competencies and experience of the selected candidate.
