Subject: Launch of the India HPSR Fellowships Programme
To: Shankar Prinja <shanka...@gmail.com>

Dear Dr. Shankar Prinja,

I am happy to inform you that we have launched the India HPSR Fellowship Programme. I would like to thank you very much for your inputs into the curriculum, which helped us refine the programme considerably. HSTP along with five other institutions have finalised the curriculum and are in the process of developing the content. The course will officially start from the first of January 2021.

We propose to introduce 20 mid-career Indian researchers to the intricacies of HPSR through a blended learning course. The initial four months phase, conducted online, will introduce them to the characteristics of HPSR and the various research methods that can be used. This will culminate in a week-long workshop that will deepen their understanding of HPSR and help them develop a proposal. Candidates with strong proposals will be awarded fellowships to conduct the research. These candidates will be mentored during the implementation phase, so that at the end of the 18 months, we will have researchers who will have demonstrated their capacity to design and implement quality HPSR proposals.

HPSR will not succeed without your active support. The symbiotic relationship will strengthen both the health systems and policies as well as improve the quality and relevance of research work. I request your support in implementing this course. I have attached the programme flyer. More details are also provided in the programme website- www.indiahpsrfellowships.org

Once again, thank you for all your help and looking forward to your support in the future,

With warm regards,

N. Devadasan
