following the document, from the Fast web, about pinball with EOS normally open or normally close switiches, to avoid confusion or bad connection, I propose a child option line under use_eos (true/false), normally_open_switch : true or false. This is for FAST, but for other controllers if it is useful. I don't know if this can improve control.

Switch configurations themselves contain the NO/NC configuration, per https://missionpinball.org/latest/config/switches/#type , with a default of "normally-open" (NO). Could you explain your use case with a little more detail in case this is not sufficient for your needs? If MPF supported both switch and flipper configurations with NO/NC management, what behavior would you expect when a switch declared one way (say, NC) is then used in a flipper configuration which declares it the opposite (IE, NO)?

In document of Fast : Either is fine from the FAST Pinball standpoint since you can configure your FAST hardware to invert the switch reading, but just be aware you could see normally open or normally closed EOS switches out there.

But the link you gave me says " ... This is mostly used for optos."

OR

so,  config below is ok ?
( i have 2 flippesr eos normally closed)

switches: s_left_flipper: number: cab-8 # hold winding control line left s_right_flipper: number: cab-9  # hold winding control line right  s_left_flipper_eos: number: io3208-2  # main/power winding control line left
                   type : 'NC'
s_right_flipper_eos: number: io3208-22 # main/power winding control line right
type: 'NC'

Yes that should work. On my build I have flipper mechs with each of those configurations, NO and NC, for the EOS switches. But yes, NC is common for many opto parts and configurations, but you can still configure optos with whichever NO or NC makes the most sense for your use case.
