Loading up our game in MPF on a new Ubuntu install - all good so far (it runs and starts the attract mode!) but I am having issues with keyboard hotkeys to test the game.  I checked the logs for Media Controller and noticed the following line and thought it is probably related:

kivy : Window: virtual keyboard not allowed, single mode, not docked

The MPF console highlights the expected switches when I press the keyboard keys, but the game window does not respond.  Maybe it is not generating events?

I am running the same game files on Windows 10 and the keyboard keys are working without issue, so I don't believe there is a config/logic issue.

Is there something else I need to install or configure for the keyboard to respond?

All MPF versions (MPF, Monitor and MC) are 0.52.

OK, so I have figured out this issue.  Nothing to do with kivy or Media Controller.  I had a font name starting with a capital letter in my base mode config file, the true type file name does not have a starting capital.  This works fine in Windows, but Ubuntu is case sensitive, so it crashes out.

Lesson learned.  Now going back and ensuring all my configured font names are in line with the actual file name itself.

Hope this helps the next schmuck who makes this error....

Did you see an error in the MPF-MC log about this? Did MC crash or continue running?

Yeah. There was a line about font file doesn't exist in the MC log.
