I have one that flashed between blue & red and the other just flashes red.
Is this normal?

There are multiple versions of the processor boards due to availability. When did you buy your board? What color processor boards do you have (blue or green). If blue, what color are the processor buttons (white or brass)?

You say it flashes red? None of them should flash red. The red should be solid. Even on the green boards where it looks to alternate between red and blue, red is on all the time. It is just overwhelmed by the blue.

I’ve attached a picture.

Board was purchased a couple of months ago.

Actually, now they are both flashing alternating between red and blue

The blue light is a heartbeat/activity light. It toggles once per second and for every packet received. So it should slow blink before MPF starts. After MPF starts, it will start blinking in response to the communication traffic. Sometimes it blinks so fast it can look extremely dim.

So what does alternating between blue & red mean?

Red is the power LED and is always on when powered. The blue LED just overwhelms it.

Ok, so then flashing between blue & red is ok.

How do you know if there is a problem?

There is a problem if it is not blinking when it is first plugged in. You should also see the behavior change when MPF starts in response to the communication packets. The exact behavior of those packets is dependent on your game.
