Last week I was able to pick up a project that was started by a friend of mine a few years ago. It has sat for at least 4 years. He started it on MPF 0.54, and its running on a windows 7 machine on P3-ROC hardware. Ive gotten everything setup and flipping, and it appears to work. He didn't get very far into coding the machine. Basically all the switches and coils work, but the lamps still need work. Ive been out of the MPF scene for a few years. I am wondering if it would be worth my time to save all the existing YAML files and wipe the computer and reload with 0.56 and Linux?

MPF 0.57 is the long-term-stable edition that you'd want to use if you have a lot of slides and widgets you want to keep for the legacy media controller (MPF-MC). If you're essentially starting from scratch, then MPF 0.80 with the new Godot media controller (GMC) is the future of MPF.

Given that the project has a grand total of 3 slides in it, I may take the plunge and go to 0.8.
