Hello !
I'm trying to configure MPF to add 2 flippers on a cobrapin.
Banks A and B on the cobrapin are full, so i tried with bank C.

Each time I add the "flippers" in MPF, it crashed !
(Petitgauche_flipper: in my config-file)
Seems ok with adding coil, but when I add the flipper, mpf crash on startup.

I remember something about bank C, but impossible to find the information again.
Do you have and idea why I can't get this working please ?

Thank you !

I have this in the error log :

Config File Error in OPP: Invalid switch being configured for driver. Driver = 1-0-0 Switch = 0-0-1. Driver and switch have to be on the same board. Error Code: CFE-OPP-13

So, is the bank C considered outside of the board or something like that ?

You will want the flippers on bank a or b and switch will need to be on switch 0-0-.

You currently have your switch on a different board than the coil. By board, it’s talking about your two stm32 that are connected to the pc. they each control different portions.

As you want the flippers to fire immediately, you’ll want them on bank a or b and switch on the 0-0 section of switches.

Ok, thank's a lot for your answer !

Actually on bank B I have 3 coil bumpers, 2 slingshots, the launch coil and the main eject coil. Will it be ok if I move them on bank C ? (7 coils)
For the bumpers and the slingshots, will they fire fast if they are on bank C ?

Or maybe I can keep the 3 coils bumpers and the slingshots on bank B with the 2 new flippers ? (it will take 9 entries, that's ok)

Any of the autofire devices you want on bank a or b and switches 0-0-.

As these are meant to fire as soon as the switch is triggered. On mine, I have flippers and sling shots on Bank a and pops on bank b. The auto launcher and eject can be on bank c, as it doesn’t need to be fired immediately when switch is active.

Thank you very much for your detailed answer !
I was going to re-wire all the coils but i'm stuck... I didn't understand this at the beginning....

I have 5 double-coiled flippers, 3 bumpers and 2 slingshot... Too bad, i'm missing 1 Coil Outputs :/
Argh !

Ok i'm dumb, theres is 16 coil output with the bank A and B, not 14 !!!!
That's perfect, I can rewire everything !

Thank's for the answer, thank's to the community in general ! :)

Maybe Thomas can answer but if you get a satellite board or expansion board, maybe one of those can do autofire coils as well?

You could try one of the coils on bank c but make sure the switch for it is on 1-0- switch inputs

PS: Maybe you know it already, but I want to emphasize that the coil output pins with an asterix (*) are not connected. I mixed it up and boiled a coil and a FET :-(

Autofire devices can exist on any bank. The limitation is that the switch that drives them needs to be on the same processor board. The error is telling you that you are configuring a Board 1 coil with a Board 0 switch. That does not work for autofire. Flippers require a direct switch. Others like pops, slings, etc. can be driven from direct or matrix switches. So switches on J3, J4, and J5 can drive autofire devices on bank C.

Also, you could run one or more of those dual wound flippers as single wound to save on coil outputs if you want. I have run WPC dual coils with only the power coil using a PWM hold.

Check https://pinballmakers.com/wiki/index.php?title=CobraPin#Wiring

Note: an autofire coil must be controlled by a switch on the same STM32 board. So a 1-0-xx switch needs to control a 1-0-yy coil and a 0-0-xx switch needs to control a 0-0-yy coil.

To me the error message indicates this.
