mpf-mc error: "could not load sound file due to an error: b'Unrecognized audio format'"

Hey!

I just installed a fresh mpf 0.56.2 .with mpf-mc 0.56.1 on a fresh Ubunti 24.04 LTS on the computer of my game. That is the same setup I use on my dev laptop. When I run the game code on my laptop connected to the hardware, everything works fine. When I run the same game code on the machine computer, mpf-mc has a problem with my .wav-files and will not run. 
Is that a problem with the OS? Can anybody give me some hints?

Just curious. Can WAV files be played correctly directly from the fresh OS?

Yes, mplayer will play the files just fine.

However, when I removed the questionable files from the /sounds/sfx directory and config files, my sound is working now. So there is something fishy about those files. Does not seem to be an mpf mc issue though.

Fine.  Just try to edit and re-encode one wav file and see what happen.
