MPF and Stern SAM support

Good morning / afternoon / evening everyone,

While browsing the documentation, I've been trying to identify how to use a P-ROC to drive a Stern SAM machine.

To my dismay, it looks like I was mistaken, while P-ROC does support indeed Stern SAM, MPF does not... Even though it does support P-ROC.

At least according to this page:

Using MPF with existing pinball machines (Williams, Stern, Gottlieb, etc.) - The Mission Pinball Framework

Is my understanding correct ?

MPF only cares about the controller board it's connected to.  There isnt anything special about SAM like there is with Spike having node boards.

This looks like incomplete/outdated information.

That would be good news indeed, but it would still require the controller board in question to implement the bridge between MPF and the target HW, and from what I can see this has not been done.
