End of ball bonus countdown question...Speed it up?

On one of my projects I used the tutorial for bonus which counts down each item one at a time on the slide. On another project I am working on we want all end of ball scoring information to just be on the slide when it is displayed. I am able to get multiplier and any variable I create to show, but subtotal and total will not. If I set a much later event to trigger the bonus slide  then subtotal and total are on the slide but from ball drain to slide display is like 10 seconds. Can I rush that information any faster than that?
