Fadecandy on Ubuntu

I am converting my game from Windows to Lubuntu and have an old fadecandy controlling the LEDs. I could not find instructions to do the build for Lubuntu. Has anyone had luck making a build and could point me in the right direction? Thanks.

@Anthony van Winkle. I read you used fadecandy on Mass Effect 2. Do you have a driver that will work with Lubuntu?
