Subject: As a man thinketh in his heart, so he is.

Years ago I read that there really is a scientific answer to the
question, "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" The first
chicken egg was laid by a creature not yet quite a chicken. So
technically, the egg came first.
The Barney Fife and Felix Ungers of the world don't live as long nor
enjoy life as well as the rest of us. Worry kills, no doubt about it.
Even if in select cases they live as long as the rest of us, in effect
they die a thousand deaths on the way. You ask, yes but are they
worriers because of bad health?
The human mind can be controlled and the intentional, purposeful, act
of not worrying and not focusing on the aches and pain
incontrovertibly prolongs life. It restores health.
Tombstones often say RIP, rest in peace. The way of mankind while
alive to face strife, aches, pains, challenges. It is being alive. You
get to RIP later, not now.
I say embrace them all, run towards challenges with optimism. Having
been in marketing all my adult life, I see every day and believe in
the power of positive thinking. We are all to have same ultimate
ending, it is the road travelled that matters.
As a Man Thinketh is a literary work of James Allen, published in
1902. The title is influenced by a verse in the Bible from the Book of
Proverbs, chapter 23 verse 7, As a man thinketh in his heart, so he
is.
Mind is the Master power that moulds and makes,
And Man is Mind, and evermore he takes
The tool of Thought, and, shaping what he wills,
Brings forth a thousand joys, a thousand ills:
He thinks in secret, and it comes to pass:
Environment is but his looking-glass.
You are what you think about Steve. For example, when one exclusively
think about disease, illness, pain, demise, it will all for sure come
to fruition. The best way, in my opinion, for anyone to break free
from destructive thoughts and sell fulfilling phrophesy, is to keep a
daily diary. Some find it is work, others religion, whatever floats
your boat. The important thing is to realize that positive optimism is
a choice. The opposite destructive thinking is also a choice.
Robert
My opinion. Thanks from all of us for posting your meritorious food for thought.

Robert posted a link to an article from a medical journal,
Psychosomatic Medicine. It suggested that people who were pessimistic,
anxious or depressive had a higher mortality......
