Hello Folks,

I am using FreeBSD 4.3 Release on a Compaq Armada M700. After a wonderfully easy cvsup makeworld upgrade, I have noticed the following. Anytime I insert a PCMCIA card in the Armada, the system immediately freezes up. There is no warning, no core dumps, and nothing indicated in the log files. Has anyone else run into this or am I the acception?

Thanks,

You are using a TI chipset. It is the same chipset that i'm having
problems with.

Pick an irq to use.

It would appear that many cardbus controllers default to using an
interrupt, even when you asked them not to. I've just discovered
this, so can't really comment further on it.

Well, the lock up is new with 4.3, but I was having a hell of a time getting
my wavelan card to work... I think it might be a problem with the design of
the Compaq... It seems to use a hell of a lot of IRQs...

i'm with 4.3-STABLE on an armada m300, and have no such problem. from
looking at the specs, both the m300 and m700 share a lot of inner
components.

With 4.3 release? Or 4.3-stable? Not much changed in 4.3 from 4.2,
but i merged a lot of stuff from current into stable just after 4.3
was released.
