Dear MPAS-Atmosphere Users:
We're pleased to announce that MPAS
version 8.0.1 was released on 6 July 2023. This bugfix release corrects several issues in MPAS v8.0, and a complete list changes in this release may be found through the GitHub
release page for MPAS v8.0.1 (
https://github.com/MPAS-Dev/MPAS-Model/releases/tag/v8.0.1)
Additionally, the MPAS-A mesh download page (
http://mpas-dev.github.io/atmosphere/atmosphere_meshes.html) has been updated with links to "static" files for all quasi-uniform meshes. For those who are running quasi-uniform global or regional real-data simulations, the availability of SCVT meshes with time-invariant terrestrial fields already interpolated to the mesh may be helpful.
As always, we welcome any suggestions, bug reports, and other feedback via the "MPAS Atmosphere" section of the forum at
https://forum.mmm.ucar.edu/ .
Kind regards,
The MPAS-Atmosphere developers
