Dear Michael,

I am trying to work on a test case using the 90-25 km variable-resolution mesh (download from MPAS website) to get familiar with how to handle non-uniform meshes.

How to set "config_len_disp" and "config_dt" in namelist.atmosphere if the mesh is variable? Do we need to set other config_* terms in addition to those for uniform meshes? Is there any examples of namelist.* and streams.* for variable-resolution mesh case?

Thanks!

Hi Jiali,

I have used config_len_disp = 25000. (i.e., the smallest grid size of your mesh) and a time step of config_dt = 120 in the past without problems.

Cheers

Dom

Hi Dom,

Thanks for your reply. It does work! Also, if you have any publications (using MPAS) that could be shared, it would be great to learn more!

Thanks!
