Question about initializing MPAS from restart files

Hi, 

I am trying to run MPAS for a set of 96 restart files.  I was wondering if someone might be able to explain how to initialize the MPAS model with the restart files, so that I then may be able to then run the MPAS model? 

I'm not too familiar with initializing the model, or using restart files so much, so apologies if my question seems a bit naive. But if you wouldn't mind pointing me to any specific documentation on how to do it, or example commands to run it, that would be extremely helpful. 

For reference, I have an "init_atmosphere_model" and "atmosphere_model" executable already available from a previous MPAS run. So I presume I don't need to rebuild those executables? Perhaps I just need to modify a namelist and then execute the executable? 

Any help would be super appreciated!
