Interpolating MPAS sea-ice output (velocity) to lat-lon mesh

Good afternoon,

I am Hyein Jeong and a postdoc of LANL.

Now a days, I'm dealing with MPAS sea-ice output data especially eastward and northward sea-ice velocity (uVelocityGeo(time, nVertices), vVelocityGeo(time, nVertices)). I wanted to convert it from MPAS mesh to lat-lon grid. However, I couldn't find any example file at website.

If you have one, could you send me the example file?

Hi, Hyein.

Just to clarify, is your question about the 'seaice' field in MPAS-Atmosphere, which is a prescribed field, or about fields from MPAS-Seaice (the sea-ice component model in MPAS)? In any case, there is a simple lat-lon conversion code at https://github.com/mgduda/convert_mpas that generally works well with MPAS-Atmosphere output, though I've never tested it with output from MPAS-Seaice.
