Discussion:
During the static file creation (static.nc is created successfully), there were a few warnings. I’m using a rotated (single precision) grid that worked fine with MPAS v5.2. Just to make sure, grid.nc was recreated with the same error.. It seems that this error is easily fixable, but the solution evades me.
Attached are the logs for the static and vertical interpolation processes (including a backtrace), ncdumps for the static.nc and grid.nc files, and namelist/streams files.
