I agree that the more complicated questions might be unnecessary; the basic statistics on how many people pay taxes, what % of people making under $200k itemize, etc. are likely to be really useful though, in showing that itemized deductions are sort of selectively used by the rich more (4,121 thousand of them itemize- I don't know how many file, but it's probably not many more than than, while probably a lot more people making under $200k don't itemize (and therefore take the standard, nonitemized deduction instead) than do itemize (42,524 thousand). Again, those are probably easily found from the IRS.
By the way, the heavier the citations, the better- even if it's just the URLs for sources we've already shared, just putting those in parenetheses if we end up having a slew of sources for one question would be awesome. Thanks again so much guys- this is HUGELY helpful!
