Dearest friends,

Earlier this year we received a grant from Queens Council on the Arts to bring our Indo-Latin project, Salsa Masala, to the studio to record an album.

The music was inspired by the neighborhood of Jackson Heights, Queens: what would happen if all the South Asians and Latinos metaphorically brought our instruments out and we had a big block party that brought the community together?

Thanks to QCA and 82nd Street Partnership, that metaphor is becoming a reality: we're throwing an actual Jackson Heights Block Party in the streets of Queens, NYC, with the Viva La Comida Food and Music Festival!

It is at the party animal-, as well as baby- and grandma-friendly hour of 3:30pm-5:30pm, is totally $free, and will also feature a handful of special guest artists---not to mention some of the best food vendors in the borough and city.

Especially these days, we've got to reclaim that most American, New York, and Queens of experiences: different people coming together to create something beautiful.

This project is a long-time coming, and will be really exciting! I really hope you'll join us!

Please RSVP here

Warmly,
Salsa Masala
