Dear friends and colleagues,

I'm so very happy to announce that my book on the geopolitics of South Asia, Beyond South Asia: India's Strategic Evolution and the Reintegration of the Subcontinent has just been published by Bloomsbury Publications!

Prof. Paul Wallace has called the book "an amazing tour de force," while King's College's Harsh Pant has said, "Neil Padukone has mapped a terrain that remains largely uncharted. Beyond South Asia is both informative and accessible, a welcome addition to the must-read literature on a rapidly transforming India.

Former US Ambassador to India Frank Wisner has said that "Padukone's well-crafted and superbly reasoned book is the first in-depth study in many years of the origins, evolution and application of Indian national security doctrine. Students of the U.S.-India relationship and those responsible for shaping our policies toward India will find the book invaluable.

Check out some more reviews and information about, and pick up a copy of Beyond South Asia here: http://www.bloomsbury.com/us/beyond-south-asia-9781628922523/, or of course at Amazon.

This is some work that is years in the making and that I am supremely proud of. I cannot wait for your thoughts, and for you to pick up and read and tell your friends and colleagues and family and enemies about it!

I'll be hosting my first book release event at the India-China Institute at The New School in Manhattan, NYC

When: Wednesday, October 1st, from 6 -7:30pm.
Where: Dorothy Hirshon Suite at 55 West 13th Street.

Dr. Thomas Graham of Brook Haven lab will be joining to discuss the book with me. Some more information about the event is here: http://www.indiachinainstitute.org/ai1ec_event/book-launch-for-beyond-south-asia-indias-strategic-evolution-and-the-reintegration-of-the-subcontinent/?instance_id=83129

Please share news about the book, and information about the event with your friends and colleagues, and I hope to see you on October 1st!

Warmly,

Neil
