Dear All

JME and I had a chance to visit Dr. Oloo at his home this afternoon. He informed us that his wife started ailing seriously sometime in November, and after several doctor's visits and consultations, was due to undergo surgery. Unfortunately that did not turn out to be the case and she sadly passed away on Saturday afternoon as they were trying to get her to hospital.

As of now, he is intending on having the burial on Saturday afternoon. In this case, he will be organising a fund raiser at the All Saint's Cathedral on Wednesday 29th January 2014, and the funeral service on Thursday 30th January. However, these are all tentative plans as it is believed that the wife's family would rather have the burial on 8th Feb.

JME will liaise with Daktari to let us know what the final decision is.

We thought that perhaps those of us wishing to contribute towards the fundraiser could put our contributions in one pot which either one of us can deliver to Dr. Oloo. Please let us know if you would be interested in contributing and we can liaise further.

For anyone wishing to visit his home, he lives in Spring Valley (UoN houses) and which is accessed via peponi road. Get to Westgate and drive on until you get to an Oilibya on your left hand side. Turn in on the left at the Oilibya and you will see a security barrier. Drive through it and leave the first two turns on your right, and take the third right turn (Spring Valley Ridge). His house is the second gate on the right.

kind regards
Joyce

Hi guys,

I just received news that Dr. Oloo's wife has passed on. Hopefully we will know details of how and where we can go to condole with him and his son.

Joyce

Joyce! It is very dangerous to incite people to "drive through" the security barrier at Oilibya. Guys pls halt at the barrier and if the guards ask inform them you are going to Dr. Oloo's hse, they will lower the barrier for you to pass.

I propose we make this inciter, Joyce M'maitsi our Treasurer such that we send our contributions to her for recording and safe keeping till we hand over to Dr. Oloo. I propose we aim at handing over to him our financial support ON THURSDAY 30TH EVENING. They are likely to leave NBI for burial on Friday early morning. Methinks we don't have to set any limit but rather we try and be as generous as we can be with our support.

Best regards,

JME

Dear All,

JME informs me that the programme I shared in Sunday's email was adopted by the larger family. Therefore, there will be a fundraiser tomorrow, Wednesday  29th January at All Saint's Cathedral and then a funeral service on Thursday 30th January. JME, please confirm to us the time when these functions will be held, as well as the venue for the church service.

As indicated earlier, we wanted to do pooled contributions from the group. I am aware that the 2013/14 group is already progressing with their contributions and may have a delegation going to Daktari's home on Thursday. For those wishing to make their contributions, do m-pesa me on 0716172121 before Thursday noon. I am negotiating with Ndegwa to give me a ride - is there any other person willing to go to Dr. Oloo's home on Thursday evening?

Joyce

Wewe Joyce! I am the Oloo family public communications officer! But if I get hold of any further useful information I will share.

I propose that we go to Dr. Oloo's as one team, both 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 MPA groups. I had a discussion last night with the 2013 class prezo ms Vero and she is of the same idea; so Joyce please be in touch with her so that we send one team to Spring Valley on Thursday afternoon/evening.

As for me I will give my contribution then head West. I will likely attend the burial at Yimbo on Saturday as your representative.

Best,
