Writing/communications intern at the Alaska Energy Authority:
AEA’s energy efficiency and conservation program is seeking a summer
intern to help with, among other things, the development of content
for a new website, www.akenergyefficiency.org. This website has the
support of a diverse range of stakeholders statewide – over 20
entities ranging from government offices to the university to non-
profit and utilities. This site is intended to be the preeminent
source of energy efficiency and conservation information in Alaska to
help better connect people to the resources they need to improve
EE&C. The website will also be the foundation of a broader outreach
effort that will start once the website has launched. The first phase
of the site is expected to launch at the Business of Clean Energy
conference in mid June and will include just the basic features and
information necessary for launching. The second phase of the site
will include everything else and will launch no later than mid-
September; the second phase will require a significant amount of
content development. The intern might also work on other outreach
efforts relating to the website, and might have opportunities to work
with other stakeholders making up the Energy Efficiency and
Conservation Working Group.
The ideal intern will have a demonstrated ability to work
independently, strong creative and technical writing skills, eagerness
to learn, and enthusiasm for energy efficiency and conservation in
Alaska. This internship is expected to be for the duration of the
college summer break; start and end dates are negotiable. Preference
will be given to students at Alaskan higher learning institutions and
Alaskan students at schools outside the state.
