Hi folks!

I'm currently building a small synth on some strip board with a standalone arduino (based upon https://www.arduino.cc/en/main/standalone) using an ATMega328-PU chip and 16MHz crystal etc. As far as I know my circuit works since I've uploaded several sketches (such as blink) which appear to work fine. My issue is that if I try to upload any MOZZI sketches, I seem to get no results. The MOZZI sketches work on my Uno board (Rev 3) but as soon as I place the chip in my circuit they seem to not work (IO pins don't do anything).

Is there any reason why MOZZI would not run on a standalone circuit (I've seen it done for example with the Bastl Instruments trinity http://www.bastl-instruments.com/instruments/trinity/) ?

Thanks in advance,
Jesse :)

Hi Jesse,
is there anything particular about the 328-PU chip?   Mozzi works on 328p's...
Are you using the output pins for Timer 1 pwm?

Apologies I am indeed using the Atmega328p-pu which is the exact same chip as the one in my Uno. Currently I believe the problem to be the crystal circuit since the behaviour of running simple sketches was varied and unpredictable. I have ordered some new crystals in the hope that this fixes my problem. Thanks for your quick reply!
