Though of sharing this with the list:

An Event Apart, Mix Online and Microsoft are running an HTML 5 Web App Development contest - 10K Apart. Its a skill-based Contest. Entrants create and submit a web application where the source files and embedded images do not exceed a size of 10 kilobytes. Details: http://10k.aneventapart.com/

Rules:

SIZE — Total file size, including images, scripts & markup, can’t be over 10K. Only 3 entries allowed per person/team.
STANDARDS — We encourage HTML5, and apps must work equally well in IE9 Dev Preview, Firefox and a WebKit browser.
LIBRARIES — You can use one of JQuery, Prototype, Typekit, and it won't count against your 10K.

Prizes:

One (1) Best Overall Prize.

Admission for winner to attend an An Event Apart Event in a city of their choice. The registration is valid for one year and expires on September 15, 2011. Approximate Retail Value, ARV, $900
$3000 USD Visa Gift Card
A copy of the book "HTML5 for Web Designers, First Edition". Approximate Retail Value, ARV, $20.

Three (3) Runners Up Prizes (Best Design, Best Technical & People's Choice).
