So the Greater Victoria Public Library (GVPL) had invited us last year
to partner with them to do a hackjam. It's taken a while, but we've had
one proposal accepted to offer the following:
"Webmaker Hackjam: Digital Storytelling with Mozilla Popcorn
Come learn a new way of creating online stories so theyre different
every time with the free Mozilla Popcorn video mashup tool. Make your
own web native film and explore larger concepts of online mashups.
Register at
gvpl.ca or call the library for more information.
Registration begins June 16."
Talked with Emma, both of us are free to do it on Saturday July 12. It
will be held at the Saanich Centennial Branch, out by Pearkes Arena,
exact time to be determined, probably 10-1 or maybe afternoon 1-4.
The room's not huge, I think the lab has 15-20 machines. It would be
good to have a couple of other volunteers.
So - can anyone in Victoria help out? The date's not set in stone - if
you want to help but this date doesn't work, maybe email me (to save
excessive logistic planning on the list) and we can consider shifting it.
Let me know, cheers, Scott
