Hi all,
I've been trying out new HTML5 geolocation support feature recently.

In Google Chrome, this feature works with no issues for localhost under
secure and unsecure connections.

In Firefox, this feature tends to show strange inconsistent behaviors from
time to time.
- Initially this feature did not work for localhost under insecure
(non-SSL) connections. Related question - http://stackoverflow.com/
questions/38853970/why-does-html5-geolocation-have-inconsistent-errorneous-
behavior-in-different-we
- After providing SSL support using LAMPP, in the first attempt this
feature did not work. It was throwing out a error.POSITION_UNAVAILABLE.
- But quite strangely when I recently attempted to use this feature for
127.0.0.1 by providing two different host names using /etc/hosts file (one
of them being localhost) I successfully managed to access the latitude and
longitude values. This was for both secure and insecure connections.

There were quite a few Firefox forum discussions
<https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1104359> recently on this
topic, but it doesn't provide a proper answer to the behavior I am
referring.

What factors cause this strange, inconsistent behavior in Firefox?
