Hi,

I figured it's better to take this comment out of bug 563236, and here.

Peter added bundles in addition to externalizing js and CSS.

The bundles are referenced verbatim in their minified versions in the
templates, which yields that in order to hack on some js, you have to
first edit the template, which basically requires that you reverse
engineer the bundle itself, then you hack, then you undo parts of your
change to the template, you gotta rebuild the bundle.

I have seen various landings to the simile code base, which has bundles
and real sources in version control, that busted the mapping between the
two.

My point of view on bundles is, they make contributing harder. You can't
just tweak the site and submit a patch, you gotta do some real deep code.

And for our one or two small files that we have, that's a pretty big burden.

What do others think?

Axel
