Hi list,
I'm trying to do a silent install of extensions in TB 60 on Windows.
but I can't get it to work.
With TB 38 ESR I was used to unzip the xpi in distribution/extensions
folder and it worked flawlessy.

I also tried to copy xpi in %program files%/Thunderbird extensions folder,
zipped, unzipped, but no way.

I'm looking both in forums and online but can't find anything...

Thanks in advance,
Riccardo

Try to post your question at either of these two newsgroups:

mozilla.dev.tech.plugins
mozilla.addons.user-experience

Good luck.

Those ng don't exist afaict.

Perhaps try mozilla.dev.apps.thunderbird

That said, did you research what IS supported now?   Whatever Firefox
supports should work for Thunderbird such as
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/Distribution_options/Sideloading_add-ons

I actually don't like the idea of silent installs. Browser hijacking
anyone? Another anti virus nightmare just for the clicking. Very messy
very quickly. Everything we install should put up a big glowing message
unless it appeared through user action.

I can't find them in the list when using Manage newsgroup subscriptions
from the Account Central pane.

Anything recently posted in them?

They absolutely do not exist - after subscribing when you click on them
it asks if you want to remove them. IOW just because you see them and it
allows you to subscribe doesn't mean it's usable
