�� appearing in emails i send to various addresses

i don't see the symbols but they do, and they say it is only emails from me that display these symbols. any suggestions on a fix ? thanks.

_Where_ do they see these symbols? Is the whole message full of them or do
they only show up in one place and one time? Do they show up for all
recipients or just some? If they can describe where they show up you can
simply compare what is in the sent message to the received one. The first
thing I'd suspect would be a encoding/character set mismatch especially if
the problem only shows up for certain recipients.

Do you have two email accounts that you could send your self an email so
you have an actual copy of the problem? If not can they send you a
copy of the email as they received is a PDF file? If you know the
actual position in the email, it may help solve the problem

Do you have some thing in your signature that is not be reproduced
correctly in the recipients email program?

What characters do you see that are replaced by the symbols?
It looks like something is utf-8 encoded, and the recipient's mail
client is not decoding it for some reason (there are several possibilities).
