The following scenario:
Windows XP SP3 Polish
Thunderbird 2.0.0.22 Polish

Suddenly the following facility stopped working:
Right-click on file SendTo E-mail (translated from Polish, it may be not
exact wording).
This method worked fine in the past, so it is not a problem with
installation.

It can be related to updates from Microsoft or Thunderbird update, I
cannot say when it started filing.

However now I get the following message (translated from Polish):
"No default mail client or the client cannot fill your request. Run
Microsoft Outlook and set it as default mail client."

Of course I checked - default client is still Thunderbird.

Any clue?

Go into your "Set program Access Defaults" dialog ("Set Program Access
and Computer Defaults" in Vista) and select Mozilla Thunderbird as your
default email program and click OK. This should solve the problem.

Thank you!

It solved my problem.
Just for record: I use Win XP, but the solution is the same.
Just for the record2:
ControlPanel - Add/Remove programs - Set program Access Defaults (an
icon on right down corner).

This is a known problem in TB 2.0.0.22 - and many people have only been
able to resolve it by going back to 2.0.0.21 (under Vista, that includes
me!). Others have resolved it by installing 2.0.0.22 again, over
itself. You're fortunate that merely forcing XP to do a reset of the
default program has worked out.

I no longer run XP - interesting to know whether the 2.0.0.22 bug works
differently under XP and Vista..

I posted about this a few times and tried the suggestions over and over
without success..

I just finished building another XP Pro box with the same SP3 version as
this one, only difference being the motherboard and associated drivers.
I installed the same 3.51 and 2.0.0.22. I then copied the entire Mozilla
and Thunderbird profiles from the machine with the issue. As soon as I
opened the 2 programs on the new box...the links and everything else
worked as they have for years on my other machines.

Having had my head into computers for 20 years, I thought I understood a
few things, but this particular problem has me stumped. In fact, after
searching and reading numerous blogs and forums and having tried a
multitude of suggested tweaks and tricks as well as doing a
repair re-install, I am still nowhere, and am reading about many, many
others who are having the same experience..
