Hi,

I am currently using TB 2 and have a GMail account using IMAP. This is
good because i use multiple computers and keeps my folders and
messages in Sync. I am also using RSS feeds, but unfortunately i have
not found a way of keeping the folders and feeds in Sync. Is there an
"IMAP equivilant" of this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Regards,

Tom Bell

Hi there,

Can someone please tell me the most simpleist way of keeping RSS feeds
in sync when using different computers, including deleting or adding
new RSS feeds. I am using GMail with IMAP through TB 2 and this is a
good was of keeping my mail in SYNC. I just want the equivilant for
RSS feeds.

Thanks for your reply,

How would i then link this with multiple computers of Thunderbird, so
that they are all in SYNC.

You can't. You asked for the simplest way, not the simplest way using
T-bird ;-)

Why not use google reader? It's pretty good - and solves your problem.

Just use Google Reader isn't that satisfying, is it?

I'm looking for the same thing. It looks to me like an extension
similar to this one http://www.ggbs.de/extensions/AddressbooksSynchronizer.html
could be written.

I bet you could do it manually like this. I haven't tried this. Back
things up first!!

1. subscribe to a feed in Tbird
2. go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data
\Thunderbird\Profiles and find the most recent profile folder.
3. now cd to mail\
4. copy the folder "news & blogs" to your desktop (optional step)
5. now copy that folder onto a CD or upload it somewhere
6. goto other computer. Shutdown Tbird. find the applicable
directory containing "news & blogs" folder. backup that folder -
rename it. copy the folder from the other computer into this
directory.
7. start tbird and you should see your feeds.

I tried this today. There is more to it than that. You'd have to
also edit panacea.dat and (maybe) prefs.js in your profile folder.
