I've got TB on several comps. How do I sync tags?

Hey.
I use Thunderbird in more than one computer. Same imap gmail account. I
recently discovered Thunderbird colour tags and noticed they don't
synchronize, e.g. I have to create the same tags on every computer for
they to show.
Is there a way to manage tags so that they appear on all computers?
Thanks

Do you mean merely adding tags to messages, or adding all-new tags with
their own label/color to Thunderbird? If the former, that should work
automatically.

As far as I know, there's no way to do the latter currently, since the
data describing each tag type is just a part of your Thunderbird
profile. There's been talk off-and-on about syncing Thunderbird profile
data like how Firefox does, but that's a big project, and I don't think
it's seen much progress.

Probably the easiest way would be to copy the associated prefs between
computers, but that's still fairly complex.

When using custom named tags with an IMAP account, it 'just works', but
each person with access to the account must manually create/duplicate
the named tag(s) in question. Once you create the tag name(s), they
magically show up.

At least they did for us (before we switched to Office365/Outlook - ugh)...

All right, at least I now know it can't (easily) be done. Thanks for
telling me
