Is it possible to set Thunderbird (v2.0) to create emails using Reader's
Default Colors set by default?
On my system, every new email I create has the option "Use Custom
Colors" set. It is possible to change this via the email's Format
menu/Page Colors and Background, and then ticking Reader's Default
Colors (Don't set colors in page).
I'd like "Reader's Default Colors (Don't set colors in page)" set by
default on all emails - currently I have to either:
a) set it on every email
b) inflicting my garish color-scheme on all recipeints of my emails!
AFAIK I haven't changed this setting away from the default value.
Can anyone help?
TIA.

PS First post here so please be gentle!
No simple way to do it, I'm afraid.
1. Exit Tb completely.
2. Find mailnews.js under default\prefs\ in your installation directory.
3. Open mailnews.js in the text editor of your choice.
4. Use |//| to comment out the following two lines:
//pref("msgcompose.text_color", "#000000");
//pref("msgcompose.background_color", "#FFFFFF");
5. Restart Tb.
This is, TTBOMK, the only way in which to honour your recipient's preferred
text and background colours in HTML mail. . . .
