Problems with attachment with long name

hi!

I trying to implement thunderbird in my LAN. All the users are using
this client, but i have a problem with some process related with the
attachment sended to some providers.

When the attachment have a long name, the file is received with the
name modified. we need send the file with that long name, but
thunderbird change the attachment name. We make many test, and this
just happen when the message is sended with thunderbird. If i use
another client, the attachment arrival with the original name.

Is this a thunderbird bug?

How can i fix that?

at the bottom of this page , there are some instructions to fix
this problem :

"This problem can be worked around by setting the
mail.strictly_mime_paramfolding preference to either 0 or 1 to use
RFC2047 . It defaults to 2 (RFC2231)

You could either add the following to prefs.js in your profile folder

user_pref("mail.strictly_mime.parm_folding", 0);

or use Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> General -> Config Editor ,
type mail.strictly_mime.parm_folding in the Filter:, and then
double click on the 2 and change it to 0. "
